How To When God Is Really Angry Based On The Study Of Fire?

 

There was a time an inquisitive fellow asked a question of why fire breaks out when God is angry. 

This is a simple question that demands a simple but detailed answer. Unfortunately, the Bible teacher who answered the fellow gave an unexpected answer that didn't really show the connection between fire breakout and God's anger.

After listening to the answer the Bible teacher gave, I felt the same way as Apostle Paul when he addressed some Jewish Christians in Jerusalem who should have attained the level of bible teachers, yet needed to be taught the foundational principles of God, thereby displaying their level of spiritual immaturity.

Hebrews 5:12

For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.

Wildfire Outbreak In America

With respect to the aforementioned event couple with the recent wildfire outbreak in California, Los Angeles, Oregon, Washington amongst other American states, I feel it is high time I gave the correct and biblical answer to the question stated above. 

I assure you that before you finish reading this expository christian article, you will have gotten an answer to the real cause of the wildfire outbreak in America and also to the question of how to know when God is really angry.

Before answering that question, let me acknowledge the wisdom of the enquirer for relating devouring fire with the anger of God. 

Truth be told, only a knowledgeable person that is familiar with the tenets of the Bible agrees to the fact that fire has a connection with the anger of God. 

Mind you, that assertion above is not the same thing as God sending out fire to punish people. 

How do I mean?

The Difference Between The Fire From The Mouth Of God And Fire Sent By God

Biblically, there is a difference between fire breaking out as a result of the anger of God and God sending out fire to punish people. 

Stay with me, you will understand this in no time. 

You see God does not need to send out fire when he is angry. Fire automatically comes out of him when he is angry. 

Sure, you must have heard of several parts of the Bible pointing to the fact that the Almighty God is a consuming fire. 

Hebrews 12:29

For our God is a consuming fire.

Deuteronomy 9:3

3 Therefore understand today that the Lord your God is He who goes over before you as a consuming fire. He will destroy them and bring them down before you; so you shall drive them out and destroy them quickly, as the Lord has said to you

 

When people come across this part of the Bible, they assume God is being referred to as a consuming fire because he sends fire on errand when he intends to destroy or punish people. 

And for the umpteenth time, I've warned Christians to stop giving figurative meanings to the word of God. If the Bible says God is a consuming fire, it LITERALLY means God is indeed a real fire. 

If you don't believe this, let's search the scripture.

Read 2 Samuel 22:7-9 below...

In my distress I called upon the Lord,

And cried out to my God;

He heard my voice from His temple,

And my cry entered His ears.

8 “Then the earth shook and trembled;

The foundations of heaven quaked and were shaken,

Because He was angry.

9 Smoke went up from His nostrils,

And devouring fire from His mouth;

Coals were kindled by it.

Can you see what David said about the Almighty God in that 2 Samuel 22:9 above?

To reiterate, he said fire came out from the mouth of God as smoke went up from his nostril. 

In case you've forgotten who David was. He was a musician with prophetic insights that transcended generations. In fact, I rate David more highly than several powerful prophets in the old testament Bible for his unleveled prophetic insights. 

Everything, I repeat, everything he sang as songs in Psalms about Jesus all came to pass, even though those prophetic songs were written about a thousand year before Jesus was born (Psalm 22).

So, whenever you come across any prophetic song of David, don't read through them as mere songs. They are far more than that. 

Every bit of the prophetic detail given in his Psalms were always accurate and depicted the exact state of things. 

Now, back to that 2 Samuel 22:9 which was the exact Psalm David penned down in Psalm 18:8...

Psalm 18:8

Smoke went up from His nostrils,

And devouring fire from His mouth;

Coals were kindled by it.

From the detailed description of God as given by David there in that thanksgiving Psalm laced with detailed prophetic insight, he said a devouring fire came out of his mouth and smoke went up from his nostril. 

This is why I tell people that our human brain, as powerful and versatile as it is, can NEVER comprehend the full capacity of God's being. 

The Almighty God is just too mysterious for us to unravel.

Considering this scary description David gave about fire coming out of God's mouth and smoke from his nostrils with what Moses told the children of Israel in Deuteronomy 9:3 and what Apostle Paul told the Jewish Christians in Hebrews 12:29, you will then be totally wrong to say David is wrong about the scary description of God. 

God Is Indeed A Consuming Fire

If Moses says God is a consuming fire and Apostle Paul affirmed the same and David revealed that a devouring fire is coming out of his mouth and smoke from his nostril, what more evidence are you looking for about God being a fire literally. 

Therefore, he is undoubtedly a fire. Fire comes out of his body literally...that is the best way to state it in a layman's language. 

Mind you, fire don't just come out of his mouth all the time. That is why you should pay attention to what David said before making that Psalm 18:8 statement...see it below...

Psalm 18:7

Then the earth shook and trembled;

The foundations of the hills also quaked and were shaken,

BECAUSE HE WAS ANGRY.

Definitely, the Lord God Almighty was angry when all that David stated in that song happened. 

It was his anger that necessitated the removal of that fire from his mouth. 

This reminds me of a deity in Yoruba land known as Sango. As you are rightly aware, Devil is a copycat. He mimics the Almighty God for almost everything he does.

That is why this Yoruba deity known as Sango brought out fire from his mouth and smoke, too, from his nostril as often as he was angry. 

Historically, this deity was confirmed to be a normal human being who was possessed with demons that empower him to bring out fire from his mouth. 

Of course, the manner in which this fire breaks out from this deity confirms its authenticity and mode of operation as copied from the body of the Almighty God. 

Fire Breaks Out Of God's Anger

Without gainsaying, God, as you've confirmed yourself, does not need to call fire out when he is angry. His anger AUTOMATICALLY brings out fire from his mouth. 

And notably, this fire—i mean the one that comes from God's mouth—is a devouring one. That is, it destroys things faster than one can ever imagine. 

Let me show you an instance from the Bible...

Numbers 11:1-4

Now when the people complained, it displeased the Lord; for the Lord heard it, and His anger was aroused. So the fire of the Lord burned among them, and consumed some in the outskirts of the camp. 

2 Then the people cried out to Moses, and when Moses prayed to the Lord, the fire was quenched. 

3 So he called the name of the place Taberah, because the fire of the Lord had burned among them.

From the underlined statement above, you will notice God did not send down fire to the earth, in the camp of the children of Israel. 

The Bible says it was when his anger was aroused that fire started burning at the outskirts of the camp.

Notably, the distance between the earth and Heaven is far beyond what the greatest group of astronaut can calculate, yet the fire coming out of God's mouth reaches the earth in no time as if the Almighty God is right on earth.

God also do send down fire from Heaven to punish or destroy people or things apart from the fire that comes out of his mouth. 

Another striking difference you will notice between the fire God sent to the earth and the fire that comes out from his mouth is that the fire sent by him are always accompanied with destructive objects. 

For instance, when he wanted to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, he sent fire and brimstone, which is a destructive chemical element. 

God used Fire and brimstone to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah

More so, when he wanted to plague the Egyptians because of the children of Israel, he sent fire, hail, which is likewise a destructive solid ice pellets, and thunderstorm.

Onward and importantly, whenever fire breaks out without a traceable source or cause, it is most likely to be from the mouth of the Almighty God as a result of his anger, just as we noticed in Leviticus 10:1...

Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the Lord, which He had not commanded them. 

2 So fire went out from the Lord and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.

From that unfortunate incident, you will notice Moses who wrote this book of Leviticus did not say God sent down fire, he said fire came out from the Lord.

Meaning, the devouring fire that killed Aaron's children, Nadab and Abihu, came directly from the mouth of God as the source of the fire that killed them was not traceable to the fire that was on their censer. 

Of course, the fire must have been precipitated by the anger of God. In other words, even if God does not have the intention of killing someone that gets him angry, the fire that comes out of his mouth, as a result of his anger, is most likely to take the person's life.

The Real Cause Of The Wildfire In America

Furhermore, sighting a fire breakout that cannot be contained 100% (that is, turned off completely by firefighters) is another evidence that its source or cause is supernatural and not natural.

This is why everyone is concerned about the wildfire in California, Los Angeles, Oregon, Washington and some other American states.

Wildfire surfaced in another America state

This wildfire has destroyed about 23,000 structures in the country. Also, displacing over 170,000 people from their houses according to CNN.

And according to BBC, up to this moment, the real cause of this fire outbreak has not been ascertained after several investigations. 

Normally, all the past fire outbreak incidents in America were caused either by lightning or utility lines, but this recent fire outbreak cannot be traced to these aforementioned causes. 

Presumably, this fire outbreak in America that killed over 25 people already and still destroying several thousands of infrastructures at a rate that cost up to $2 billion Dollars, as never witnessed in the world before, is likely to have a supernatural cause and not a natural one. 

Even Elon Musk, the richest man in the world believe this strange disaster has nothing to do with climate change. 

However, climate change plays a vital role in spreading the fire. 

Another surprising fact about these wildfire is the fact that with THOUSANDS OF FIREFIGHTERS and their rapid response, the fire keeps spreading across multiple states in the country. 

Meaning, the fire has not been contained. Only about 14% of it, out of 100%, has been contained. That is, only 14% of the area of the fire outbreak has been completely well taken care of in terms of putting off the fire.

This is why I'm urging Americans and the whole world at large to pray for this great country, just as Moses did for the children of Israel at Taberah.

Numbers 11:2 

Then the people cried out to Moses, and when Moses prayed to the Lord, the fire was quenched.
