The Correct Biblical Explanation Of Exodus 17

Exodus 17:8-13 Now Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim.  9 And Moses said to Joshua, “Choose us some men and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand.”  10 So Joshua did as Moses said to him, and fought with Amalek. And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.  11 And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.  12 But Moses’ hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.  13 So Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword. This is an interesting story in the Bible showcasing the flunctuations of the battle— between the children of Israel and Amalekites—coinciding with the motion of the hand of moses....

The Most Mysterious Person In The Bible

The Most Mysterious Person In The Bible

Just as the creatures in heaven are not created the same way, so are the creatures on earth created differently.

In heaven, as an instance, there are four living creatures within and around the throne of the Almighty God. These four living creatures are all categorized as Angels based on the curricula of all Bible Colleges across Africa, yet they don't have the same appearance.

As described by John the apostle who saw and wrote the book of Revelation, one looks like Lion, one looks like Calf, one looks like Human being, and one looks like Eagle.

Apart from these six-winged angels, there are other angels with six wings and created completely different from the four living creatures...these ones are called the Seraphims.

Isaiah 6:1-2

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.

2 Above it stood SERAPHIM; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.

Going by the description prophet Isaiah gave concerning the Seraphims, it is very easy to figure out that these are different from the other angels in heaven.

All of these just shows that our God loves variety.

In comparison to what we have in heaven, on earth, God created every same living thing, including we human beings, in a different way.

At this juncture, it is necessary to state that out of all the human beings on earth or that has ever lived on earth, Jesus was the second person that existed outside the earth before he came into the world.

Did you noticed I said Jesus Christ of Nazareth was the second person that existed outside the earth before he came into the world?

Of course, that was not a mistake.

You see in some parts of the world, some people believe that everyone of us existed somewhere in the spirit realm before we came to the earth.

That's just a fallacy.

No where is it recorded in the Bible that we existed outside the earth before we came into the world.

Our existence started from the time of our conception.

On the contrary, Jesus began before the beginning. In fact, he is the beginning, himself, so to write.

Revelation 22:12

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”

And for those who still doubt the deity status of Jesus, he was the one who made that statement himself in the vision John the apostle saw.

Verse 16 of that Revelation 22 confirms this was Jesus talking there...

16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches.

To avoid much digression, let me hit the nail on the head...

Since Jesus is the beginning, it means he existed before the beginning.

And whenever people come across a statement like that, they are quick to assume that the beginning being referred to here was when God created the heavens and the earth.

Their notion of what beginning means is often supported by the fact that Genesis 1:1 started with...

IN THE BEGINNING God created the heavens and the earth.

As many of us already know, the beginning began before that beginning.

I mean God had been living in heaven with his Angels and the 24 elders before that beginning on earth was initiated by God.

And since our God is triune, that confirms the existence of God the Father (Jehovah), God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit before the beginning that birthed another beginning of the world.

Hope that doesn't sound confusing...Is it?

The Beginning Of The Existence Of The Mysterious Person And The Beginning Of Man

So, when Jesus was brought into the world by the birth of a virgin, it was not the beginning of his existence but a continuation of his being from outside of the earth.

Truth be told, God is not confined to this natural means of coming to the world...I mean through birth.

He could have chosen another means if he wanted to. But doing so would have sabotaged his mission on earth as many would not have taken him or seen him as human.

God is not confined by a natural means of coming to the world through birth

Definitely, any existence that starts on earth without a conception confirms the supernatural or extra-human status of such a being.

That was why the first man that existed outside the earth before he came into the world was not and can never be categorized as mere human being.

Surprisingly, his kind of being, as human, far exceed the creation of Adam and Eve in all ramifications.

He was created like the original, immortal Adam and Eve before sin came into the world and denied them of their immortality status.

This mysterious man, I'm referring to, in the Bible came into the world without conception (like Jesus) or creation (like Adam and Eve).

By now, you would have an idea of who I'm referring to.

So, before we meet on the same page, I will like you to ponder on this question...

If a man exist in this world without being conceived in the womb of a woman or being created like Adam and Eve, how then exactly did he manage to start living in this world?

If you are about to come up with an answer, then I guess you know a lot about Angels.

You know this earth was made for beings with physical bodies. Intuitively, no spirit Spirit can live comfortably here on earth.

Don't misquote me...I'm not implying that spirits beings can't live on earth as this place is meant for beings with physical bodies, but what I'm insinuating is that any being that lives on earth without a physical body will do so uncomfortably.

For instance, river, ocean, water bodies generally is the abode for aquatic animals. That means if any being is not aquatic and decides to live inside water, the being will definitely live there in serious discomfort, that is if it can even survive there.

To continue with knowing a lot about angels...

I made that statement to make you understand that only those who are conversant with the life and ministry of Angels will relate to human beings living on earth without being conceived or created.

In case that sounds gibberish to you, let me explain it a bit.

You see Angels are spirit beings. For this reason, they can not make the earth their place of abode. Doing so will always make them uncomfortable, just as I explained human beings trying to live in water.

The only way they, the spirit beings, can survive here is to have a physical body.

This is one of the reasons God gave Angels the power of transmutation that makes them change their spiritual angelic form to human form.

Less I forget, the demons on earth (remember they were formally angels in heaven before being sent out to the out with the devil) lost that power of transmutation after they left heaven. This is why demons will go any length to possess human body.

Without a human body, they are useless and uncomfortable here even though they don't make it appear so to people.

Once they possess a body, they will never leave except they are compelled with a power that beyond theirs.

Demons possessed a human body

So, the power of transmutation is what makes angels change to human being when they visit the earth, and as soon as they are done they change back to their angelic form so as to fly back to heaven.

From that aforementioned statement, it means someone in heaven can come and literally live on earth as human being without being conceived like Jesus or created like Adam.

Hope that clears the air?

The Mysterious Person Has No Beginning Of Days Of Life

Now, that was exactly why the book of Hebrews state that this mysterious man has no beginning of days of life.

Hebrews 7:3

...having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God...

Some people thought this special creature of God must then be God for not having the beginning of days of life.

Actually, the mysterious man is God's creature, still according to the book of Hebrews.

The man not having the beginning of days of life just means that he was not conceived by a woman or created like Adam and Eve.

It was just like he started living in earth at once as if it was by a stroke of magic.

Hebrews 7:3

without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.

Of course, this man is no other person other than Melchizedek.

As you know, he was neither born nor created, yet he lived on earth as human being.

That implies...he must have been transmuted out of heaven to the earth just like the way Angels change to human being on earth when they are here for an assignment that require them to be here for sometime and in communication with human.

And if you pay close attention to that Hebrews 7:3, you will see that Melchizedek had no ending of days of life, which means he could no die.

His immortality status was right intact even while he was human being on earth.

As he is no longer on earth, we can rightly conclude that he was translated back to heaven like Enoch or ascended like Jesus.

Notably, if he decided, as at the time he lived on earth, not to leave the earth, we will all still see and meet him even though he lived several thousands of years before us, as immortal beings cannot grow old forever.

The Mysterious Person Occupied Mixed Positions Not Allowed By The Almighty God

To round this expository piece up, may I tell you for free that Melchizedek was the only one in the bible that occupied the post of a king and a priest at the same time.

No king in the Bible days dare take over the responsibility of a priest. Saul, the king, lost his kingdom the moment he tried it.

1 Samuel 14:11-14

11 And Samuel said, “What have you done?”
Saul said, “When I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that you did not come within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered together at Michmash,

12 then I said, ‘The Philistines will now come down on me at Gilgal, and I have not made supplication to the Lord.’ Therefore I felt compelled, and offered a burnt offering.”

13 And Samuel said to Saul, “You have done foolishly. You have not kept the commandment of the Lord your God, which He commanded you. For now the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.

14 But now your kingdom shall not continue. The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what the Lord commanded you.”

As I stated earlier, even though Kings were not to carry out the role or responsibility of a priest, Melchizedek did as he was destined by God.

Studying this man, the most mysterious man in the Bible, will make anyone understand a lot of things about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

From the Psalm 110 that announced the reign of Jesus Christ as the Messiah, it's found in its verse 4 that...

The Lord has sworn
And will not relent,
“You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek.”

In other words, Jesus occupies the post of a high priest. This time around, a high priest with an eternal priesthood.

And as every priest must have an order, God chose the order of the priesthood of Melchizedek for Jesus.

To your notice, every priesthood is a replica of its order. And since Jesus priesthood is forever, the order of his priesthood then must come from a priesthood that has that same attribute of a priesthood without an end.

Don't forget Melchizedek never died. Invariably, his priesthood never ended even after he left the earth. Thereby becoming a replica of Jesus kind of priesthood. This was why God had to choose the order of Melchizedek for Jesus, when all and sundry thought the order of Aaron priesthood would have been God's choice.

Onward...

To reiterate, no king performs a priestly role, yet Melchizedek performed both. Thereby, leaving no argument for the same dual roles for Jesus who is now a King and a High Priest.

Moreover, being an immortal being till he left the earth confirmed Melchizedek lived without sin.

Had he committed sin, he would have lost his immortality status like Adam and Eve.

Similar to this sinless lifestyle of Melchizedek, Jesus Christ was the only one—after him—with such a record.
