How To Get Immediate Attention Of God
Hosea 4:6 - My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee...
Even though this Earth is full of evil people, there are lots of good things we can learn from the world as Christians. In almost every hospital you see around, there is always an emergency department set aside for urgent medicare care.
Without that department in the hospital, untold number of lives would have been lost.
Similarly, in life — even in the christendom — there are certain situations or circumstances we encounter that make us demand urgent attention of our maker. Surprisingly , many Christians are not even aware that there are biblical means of getting urgent attention of God. All they know and hear about when they need God's attention is to pray.
That is why many Christians suffer like those in the world.
Onward...
Even though God loves his people, he hates anyone who lacks knowledge about his word.
Consequently, God's children must always know better than the people in the world. This is why you can never see any set of people anywhere in the world who are more knowledgeable than the Jews, God's favorites. In fact, several world scientist bodies have attested to that fact about the Jews.
PROMINENT JEWS: Albert Ballin (Father of modern cruise); Albert Einstein (Brilliant Physicist & Nobel Laureate); Sarah Bernhardt (Greatest french actress); Sigmund Freud (Neurologist who founded Psychoanalysis)
Of course, this is not a new occurrence; atleast, you will remember the case of Daniel and the three Hebrew boys in the Bible.
Daniel 1:17-20 - 17 As for these four young men, God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.
18 Now at the end of the days, when the king had said that they should be brought in, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar.
19 Then the king interviewed them, and among them all none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah; therefore they served before the king.
20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, HE FOUND THEM TEN TIMES BETTER THAN ALL THE MAGICIANS and ASTROLOGERS WHO WERE IN ALL HIS REALM.
If the people of this world then know that they can save themselves a lot through emergency centers in hospitals full of hundreds of sick people waiting in line for medical attention, we people of God should know better, as this secret of better living is available in the Bible.
Who can tell may be unbelievers found this secret of living a better life from the Bible?
So, what do you do if you need m urgent attention of God?
I mean really need urgent attention of God. Do you pray or fast and pray? Trust me, that is what most Christians will tell you to do. They will tell you to pray. That is tantamount to telling a dying patient to queue in line before those who came before him in the hospital. Sure, you know what that means and its implications.
Please, don't misquote me, there are instances prayer can save urgent situations. The perfect example is that of Paul and Silas in prison (Acts 16:25-26). Mind you, this is one in hundred case, and don't ever think you are the only one who needs urgent attention of God at the exact time you need him.
Shockingly, over One Billion Christians in this world may need God's urgent attention at the exact time you need it, too. Imagine if all of the One Billion people resort to prayer. Believe you me, more than 90% of them will still fail to get God's attention because they lack knowledge.
Of course, God is omnipotent. He can attend to all of them at the same time, but there are myriads of factors — like unconfessed sins, doubt, ignoring God's word, lack of love, unforgiveness amongs hundreds of others — that may hinder their prayers. And God will never change his word, for any reason, to suit anyone, not even for his children.
Psalm 138:2 - thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
Comically, when Christians fail to get the immediate attention of God, they tend to feel their superiors in church or other Christians out there, faring better, are better than them.
Here is the REAL SECRET to getting the immediate attention of God.
At this juncture, pay close attention to me.
This is not a new concept; it is as old as the Bible. Do not take my word for it. Take a look at it right in the Bible below...
1 Samuel 9:3-6 - Now the donkeys of Kish, Saul’s father, were lost. And Kish said to his son Saul, “Please take one of the servants with you, and arise, go and look for the donkeys.”
4 So he passed through the mountains of Ephraim and through the land of Shalisha, but they did not find them. Then they passed through the land of Shaalim, and they were not there. Then he passed through the land of the Benjamites, but they did not find them.
5 When they had come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant who was with him, “Come, let us return, lest my father cease caring about the donkeys and become worried about us.”
6 And he said to him, “Look now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honorable man; all that he says surely comes to pass. So let us go there; perhaps he can show us the way that we should go.”
As you read above, it was Saul's servant who revealed this concept of getting immediate attention of God to Saul.
After they search for his father's donkeys through the journey of several miles, Saul felt if they fail to return home at that instant, his father, Kish, would care no more about his donkeys and worry more about them. So, there was no more time for them to keep searching. If they had to search more for it, wherever they decided to go thereafter must be the exact place the donkeys were, else they would have created more problems for Kish.
At that point in time, as the matter had become an urgent one, praying to discover the right way to go would have wasted more of their time.
Hence, Saul's servant suggested visiting a prophet. That is it. That is exact way to get God's attention when you need it for urgent matter.
SIMPLE RIGHT? YES.
God, in his wisdom, has put lots of people in this world as his mouth pieces. In fact, some of these mouth pieces of God live very close to you, if not right beside your house. Whenever you need God to speak to you concerning urgent matters and it seems he is taking time for him to speak up, all you need do is visit a close-by prophet and right in that instance all your problems will be solved.
As great as this concept is, it doesn't go down well with most Christians because of huge number of false prophets. It is now so bad that several mega churches don't have the presence of prophets in their Churches. To even say you are a prophet in some pentecostal churches is now more or less a taboo.
If you belong to those categories of Christians, kindly turn a new leaf as you are doing yourself a disservice by ignoring the most prestigious office in God's ministry, which also serve as a better and surest means of getting God's attention.
And in case you think this is an old testament concept, you can check the new testament. In it contains hundreds of instances citing the service of prophets in early churches in new testament Bible days.
For example, Jesus was a prophet (Matthew 13:57); Judas and Silas were prophets in Acts 15:32; John, our beloved brethren, was also a new testament prophet (Mark 11:32); Holy Spirit called one prophet, Barnabas, and one teacher, Saul for the missionary journey in Acts 13:1; what of Prophet Agabus who lived in Apostle Paul days in Acts 21:10. Do not think Agabus was the only prophet people visited in Apostle Paul's time; there were several hundreds of other prophets in several places Paul established churches (1 Corinthians 14:29).
Perhaps, you are already familiar with this method of getting the immediate attention of God, but you are turning it down because of the huge number of false prophets in the land. Put your mind to rest and watch out for our next Christian insightful article on how to recognize fake prophets ever before you meet them.
Hallelujah... Stay blessed.
