What Most Preachers Don't Tell Us About The Holy Spirit

Having knew the thought of the Pharisees, Jesus seized the opportunity to give extra caution to them, and of course to us all, not to think the Spirit of God was like him.  The statement Jesus made on that day brought us to a realization that Holy Spirit is quite different — in fact, "far far" different — from God the Father and God the Son. If you really know God the Father and God the Son quite well, and you relate to Holy Spirit the same way you relate to them, in no time, you will realize you've beaten more than you can chew. From this expository and thought-provoking post, you will learn a lot of things that most Bible preachers don't tell us — or forget to tell us — about the 3rd triune God, Holy Spirit. First, let me show you something fascinating in the Bible. Judges 9:7-15 7 Now when they told Jotham, he went and stood on top of Mount Gerizim, and lifted his voice and cried out. And he said to them: “Listen to me, you men of Shechem, That God may listen to yo...

If You Are Doing Any Of These Things You Are Limiting The Power of Jesus In Your Life.

Many people believe that Jesus can do something for them in as much as he had done a similar or same thing for another person. God doesn’t have to do something for someone before doing it for you. “He is no respecter of person,” as rightly stated in the Bible. As long as you believe in him, there is nothing he cannot do for you.

If you measure his power by what he had done in the past, you will be limiting his power. Even though he is powerful, he can only go as far as you tell him to go. He doesn’t force his will on people. When he created Adam and Eve, he gave them the free will to choose — either life or death — whatever they want. Unfortunately for them, they chose death. Although he wanted them to live, he didn’t force them to choose life.

If you choose to believe he can do something for you, he will definitely do it; however, if you choose to believe he can’t do something for you because he has not done such before now, he won’t do it — he can’t go against your will to do something for you.

The Miracles of Jesus.

30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:

31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

             John 20:30-31 (KJV)

Just as it is not possible to record all the statements of Jesus, so it is not possible to record all his miracles. His first recorded statement was noted when he was 12 years old. Although a child was seen as an adult at the age of twelve in Israel, it doesn’t mean Jesus did not make profound statement before he became an adult.

Being a savior, he must have Shew signs from his childhood that revealed how special he has was.

I believe he must have performed miracles before he started his ministry. Some people believe everything that happened in his lifetime was recorded. Of course, it is not possible to record everything that happened in his lifetime.

John, the apostle, revealed in John 20:30-31 that not all miracles of Jesus were recorded. Knowing the relationship that existed between John and Jesus, I believe he performed more miracles than any record shows. There were times the disciples were not with him. During those times, he might have done something spectacular. His mother, Mary, must have witnessed more miracles than anyone else. For instance, at the wedding in Cana, Mary insisted that Jesus should do something, probably, because she knew Jesus could do something about it or, perhaps, he did a similar thing in the presence of his mother in the past. The way his mother talked to him at the wedding when the wine finished Shew she knew more about Jesus than anyone else — including his disciples. If she, Mary, were to have written a book, she would have revealed more miracles than the ones the disciples recorded. If you believe Jesus cannot do something for you because he has not done a similar thing in the Bible, you will begin to doubt his ability. Even though he can do it, your doubt will limit his power.

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

            Mark 11:23 (KJV)

Do you know Jesus never move a physical mountain when he was on Earth. However, he told his disciples they could move mountains.

You don’t have to limit his power based on what he did or what he did not do. As long as you believe you can do something, you can do it. If you doubt your ability to do it, you won’t be able to do it. Doubting the power of God can limit his power; it can also limit your ability to achieve great things.

22 And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.

23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.

25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.

26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

        Matthew 14:22-31 (KJV)

When Peter doubted his ability to walk on water, he sank right in the presence of Jesus. Doubt should not be allowed in your heart. As long as you don’t limit God’s ability based on his previous miracles, doubt won’t take over your heart.

All Things are Possible.

27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
           Mark 10:27 (KJV)

This is a reminder on the difference between God and human beings. There are so many impossibilities in a man or woman's diary. For God, impossibilities do not exist in his realm. Right from the beginning of the world, even before the world was created, God has been doing things that human beings tagged impossible. It is impossible for human being to walk on water, Jesus walked on water; it is impossible for human being to fly in the sky without the aid of a machine, Jesus did without the aid of any object. It is impossible for a woman to be pregnant without the use of a man's sperm, Mary was pregnant without a sperm, through the help of the Holy Ghost; it is impossible for an individual to kill 185,000 people in one night, an angel of God did — he killed 185,000 Assyrians in one night when their king insulted God.

If you keep counting, you will realize God can do all things.  In fact, everything is possible when God is involve.

What Happens When We Limit God?

Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.

And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.

And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.

And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

         2 Kings 4:1-7 (KJV)

The man of God told her, the widow, to borrow many vessels, but she borrowed few vessels, which affected the amount of oil she got from God. The oil, which came out from a pot, filled many vessels and stopped exactly at the last vessel. Had she gotten more vessels, the oil wouldn’t have stopped. She limited the power of God by not getting more enough vessels as instructed by the man of God.

God deals with everyone according to the measure of faith. A little faith attracts a little miracle, while a “big” faith attracts a “big” miracle.

A New Miracle.

During the ministry of Jesus, he performed about 38 miracles. Nevertheless, the number of miracles are nothing to be compared with what he can do.

Who told you God cannot do a new miracle for you? When he divided the red sea, no one has ever seen or heard of people walking on a dry ground in the midst of the sea. The children were the first set of people to witness that kind of miracle.

More so, no one has ever seen a woman who is pregnant of a child from the Holy Ghost besides Mary. Even though the bible recorded 38 miracles of Jesus, he can still perform a new miracle. So, do not limit God by what you’ve heard or seen or read about him: He can do more than you can ever imagine. Praise the Lord
