CHAPTER FOUR OF THIS BOOK

A.R.N (ANAKIMS, REPHAIMS & NEPHILIMS)

The word of God cannot be interpreted based on intellect, instinct or reality. 

There are lots of things in the Bible that can never be explained in relation with the tenets of reality. In fact, the more one tries to explain biblical principles with a realistic perspective, the more one confuses others. More so, the more other people listening to one's ideology get confuse, the more confusing oneself becomes. 

In other words, the one confusing others will end up confusing himself or herself while confusing other people.

The picture portrait I just painted above is the exact thing happening in the Christendom in our present time. A lot of people are interpreting the word of God with their wisdom. 

Conversely, the only acceptable way to interpret the Bible is with the Bible. 

Hope that doesn’t sound new?

That means, to interpret the Bible, what one needs is the Bible.

On several occasions, different people come up with different meanings to the term “SONS OF GOD” in the Bible. 

Not understanding what that Biblical term means has caused the body of Christ a lot of pain in the neck and , also, cause it unnecessary division in doctrine.

There was once a time Pentecostal churches emerged from the Orthodox churches. Now, gone are those days when Pentecostalism was always being differentiated from Catholicism. 

These days, Christians differentiate different Pentecostal churches based on their unrelated & diverse doctrines that all, surprisingly, emanated from the same BIBLE VERSES.

For the term “SONS OF GOD,” different churches seem to have their own definition for it. 

The question remains that if this term is a Biblical term, why can’t all churches give the same biblical meaning to it?

At least, no matter where you come from, your Bible book of Genesis is not different from the Bible book of Genesis of others. Why then do we have the same SONS OF GOD term in all our Bible and at the same time create different meanings to what the Bible has clearly defined.

Without much ado, let’s see this for ourselves…

that the SONS OF GOD saw the DAUGHTERS OF MEN, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.

Genesis 6:2

In that part of the Bible, Sons of God saw the beautiful daughters of men and decided to marry them. 

Later, in the 4th verse of that chapter 6 of Genesis, the Bible linked the marriage institution between the Sons of God and the daughters of men with the birth of mighty men and Giants of old.

There were GIANTS on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the SONS OF GOD came in to the DAUGHTERS OF MEN and they bore children to them. Those were the MIGHTY MEN who were of old, men of renown.

THOSE GIANTS WERE

1. ANAKIMS

2. REPHAIMS and

3. NEPHILIMS…

The ¹NEPHILIM were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the HEROES OF OLD, men of renown (Genesis 6:4).

(It is also counted as a land of ²REPHAIM. Rephaim formerly lived there—but the Ammonites call them ZAMZUMMIM… A people great, and many, and tall, as the ³ANAKIMS; but the Lord destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead:

Deuteronomy 2:20-21

The question, then, is who are these SONS OF GOD? 

To know the exact identity of who these people are, all you need is the Bible and not a dictionary or Google.

Before you figure out who this people are, you need to understand that both the old testament Bible and the new testament Bible were not written in the same language. The Old Testament was written in Hebrew while new Testament was written in Greek. 

Not understanding the tenets of linguistics can make anyone lose focus on the original meaning of the term “SONS OF GOD.”

In other words, what the Hebrew language in the old testament referred to as Sons of God is quite different from what the Greek language called Sons of God.

See below what the old testament Hebrew Bible refers to as Sons of God…

“Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand.

5 Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it?

6 On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone

7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Job 38:4-7

As clearly stated in the conversation of God with Job during his days of calamity, some people were present when God made the foundation of the world.

The question God asked Job could never be answered by him, as it would have been impossible for him to know about his existence before he was created. 

No human spirit or being existed before the Almighty God created us. It was after God breathed into Adam that the first generation of human spirit came into existence. 

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and BREATHED INTO HIS NOSTRILS the breath of life; and man BECAME a living being.

Genesis 2:7

This means there was no human spirit in heaven before the creation of the world as many people believe.

As long as they were no human beings during the creation of the world, then you won’t be wrong to say the Morning stars and the Sons of God that shouted for joy as God made the foundations of the world were spiritual beings. 

In fact, Sons of God is a term in Hebrew language used for Angels alone, apart from the other Hebrew word: mal·’aḵ. In addition, any where you see Sons of God, including Son of God, in the old testament, as it was written in Hebrew, referred to Angels or Angel.

This is why you will never see Jesus being called Son of God in the old testament. Never forget the term Son of God in the Hebrew language means Angel. So, if Jesus was referred to as a Son of God in the Hebrew language, it simply means he was an Angel. God forbid that our Lord and Savior be an Angel.

As simple as this term is, many people relate it with the Son of God in the new Testament that was written in another language entirely different from Hebrew. 

For instance, in Yoruba language, OBI means Kolanut; in Igbo language, OBI means the first house in a family compound. 

If you keep on searching, you will discover the same OBI (spelt the same way O-B-I) means different things in different languages. 

You may even think OBI is only an African word until you get to Japan where they call the cloth worn around their waist OBI. 

Meaning, one word or phrase with the same spelling can mean different things in different languages. Therefore, an hausa man can’t argue with Igbo man over their own meaning of Obi.

Likewise, you can’t give the Greek meaning of the term Son of God to the same phrase when it’s written in Hebrew.  

In Greek, Son of God means the ONLY CHILD OF GOD who came into the world through a virgin birth, that is Jesus, while Sons of God, in the same language, means those who became God’s children by adoption through the blood of the only son of God. 

Holistically and with the aforementioned reasons, it was indeed the Sons of God who went in to the daughters of men before the generation of Giants came into existence.

Some are of the school of thought that it was not the fallen angels who married the daughters of men and gave birth to the Giants because Jesus said…

For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.

Mark 12:25

There, Jesus was referring to the Angels “in heaven” when he answered the Sadducees who never believe in resurrection. 

Of course, Jesus was right. Angels can never marry IN HEAVEN, Spirit cannot and does not marry. Just as no Angel can dare eat meat or drink milk in Heaven. This doesn’t mean they can’t eat it while they are transmuted to human form, as you’ve confirmed in the previous chapter.

For instance, Jesus was 100 percent man on Earth, and, at the same time, he was 100 percent God on earth. Take note, he was God on earth, but he died in his human body. As long as God is in a human being form, everything that happens to man will definitely affect him. Of course, this doesn’t mean God can die IN HEAVEN, as spirit don’t die.

Hope you are beginning to understand what Jesus meant by Angels IN HEAVEN don’t marry?

Unlike Jesus Christ, Angels when in their transmuted body are 100 percent man, but ZERO PERCENT Angel (that was why Jacob was able to fight a transmuted Angel for hours without being overpowered in time…more explanation on this in the forthcoming chapter).

Had it not been for that inordinate affection between the Sons of God and daughters of men, there would not have been another generation of Giants after God used water (flood) to destroy that first generation of them.

As recorded in Genesis 7:21…

…ALL FLESH died that moved on the earth: BIRDS and CATTLE and BEASTS and EVERY CREEPING THING that creeps on the earth, and EVERY MAN.

Everything, including human beings as stated above, died in the flood except Noah’s family and the animals God told him to preserve. In other words, the generation of Giants ended in the flood.

However, another set of Giants, called Rephaims, just exactly like the Giants that existed before the flood, called Nephilims, started springing up again after the flood in Moses' time. 

(It is also counted as a land of ²REPHAIM. Rephaim formerly lived there—but the Ammonites call them ZAMZUMMIM

As you’ve read above, Moses destroyed all the new Giants with the help of the Almighty God when he finally killed the last person remaining of the remnants of Rephaim who was the giant king of Bashan (Deuteronomy 3:1-2).

The question anyone should, then, ask here is how did Giants come up again after they were all destroyed in the flood?

As you know that Angels can never die, they must have transmuted back to their Angelic form and went back to their base, during or before the flood. Even if they’d remained in the flood with their transmuted human form, their human bodies, of course, would have died, just as Jesus (God) in human body died, but their spirit would still live.

Since there was no remnant of Giants left in the flood, the ones who existed after the flood came definitely from another immoral relationship between the Sons of God —who came back again — and, with, the daughters of men.

After Moses’ time, another set of Giants started springing up again from the loins of women. This was why God had to instruct Joshua to destroy all of the new set of Giants, making it the 3rd time God destroyed the Giant descendants of the Sons of God.

Unfortunately, Joshua did not destroy all the Giants — like his predecessor — in his time as he left some Giants in Gaza, Gath and Ashdod…

During this period Joshua destroyed all the descendants of Anak, who lived in the hill country of Hebron, Debir, Anab, and the entire hill country of Judah and Israel. He killed them all and completely destroyed their towns.

None of the descendants of Anak were left in all the land of Israel, THOUGH SOME STILL REMAINED IN GAZA, GATH, AND ASHDOD.

Joshua 11:21-22

The few Giants Joshua left off in Gaza, Gath and Ashdod were the ones who became long time fiercest enemies of Israel till David finally conquer their last Giant warrior, Goliath, who came from Gath, one of the three cities Joshua left untouched in his days.

As observed, it seemed anytime the Sons of God decided to raise another set of their evil gigantic generation with the daughters of men; God was always using his own children to destroy them. 

Overtime, these fallen Angels changed tactic as observed In the Bible, from being transmuted to human form to having immoral relationship with daughters of men to possessing their human bodies. 

As if the Devil and the other fallen Angels were tired of that immoral marriage method, they stopped the immoral relationship and started taking over human bodies.

 That, they did so much, for several years, that when Jesus finally came to the earth, he spent more time casting them (DEMONS) out of human bodies than he did performing any other miracle.
