What Most Preachers Don't Tell Us About The Holy Spirit

Having knew the thought of the Pharisees, Jesus seized the opportunity to give extra caution to them, and of course to us all, not to think the Spirit of God was like him.  The statement Jesus made on that day brought us to a realization that Holy Spirit is quite different — in fact, "far far" different — from God the Father and God the Son. If you really know God the Father and God the Son quite well, and you relate to Holy Spirit the same way you relate to them, in no time, you will realize you've beaten more than you can chew. From this expository and thought-provoking post, you will learn a lot of things that most Bible preachers don't tell us — or forget to tell us — about the 3rd triune God, Holy Spirit. First, let me show you something fascinating in the Bible. Judges 9:7-15 7 Now when they told Jotham, he went and stood on top of Mount Gerizim, and lifted his voice and cried out. And he said to them: “Listen to me, you men of Shechem, That God may listen to yo...

Here Is Why Devil Loves Darkness

Here Is Why Devil Loves Darkness

Darkness And Light

From the creation story in the book of Genesis, darkness was not made when God created Adam and Eve. Darkness existed before that time.

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters

Genesis 1:2

If you study the creation enough, you will discover it was not just darkness that existed before Adam but also water. The Spirit of God hovered the face of the water before God made the Sea. There was no account of the creation of water in Genesis. Even the Sea was called the gathering of water in Genesis 1:10.

Actually, Adam was the first human being to inhabit the earth, but he was not the first creature to live on earth. The Devil and its numerous demons had been living in this world for untold number of years before the first man was created.

And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Revelation 12:7-9

After the unimaginable war between Angel Michael and the Devil with uncountable number of angels and demons respectively, the Devil had no choice than to leave heaven. As reluctant as ever, he was casted out to the earth. Of course, that took place before the creation of the first man.

unimaginable war between Angel Michael and the Devil with uncountable number of angels and demons

The Devil being casted to the earth lived mysteriously in this world without light for unknown number of years. He lived in, and mastered, darkness ever before he started using it as a medium of perpetuating evil.

No one can beat him at the game of using darkness to wreck havoc. Do not misquote me, he loves darkness but he never created it. God made the darkness right from the original beginning.

Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.

Psalm 104:20

Undisputably, as stated by the Psalmist, God made darkness just as he made all things. Devil has no power to create things. He works in opposition to his maker.  God creates, he destroys; God goes up, he goes down; God loves light, he loves darkness; God loves and enjoys doing good, he loves and enjoy doing evil.

Due to the evil being done in the dark, people assume darkness is evil. If the world is full of evil, it doesn’t necessarily make the world itself evil. As the demonic spirits are evil, it doesn’t make all spirit evil, as well.

In fact, darkness and light are almost alike before God.

Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee

Psalm 139:12

Unbelievably, darkness shines as light before God. The difference that exist between light and darkness is inconsequential before him. The way we see things is not the way he sees things. His ways are unimaginable. More so, his thoughts are as high as heaven to ours.

Don’t let it ever cross your mind that darkness was created for the Devil. Banish the thought, the creator of the world has a good reason for its creation.

Why God Created Darkness?

As stated earlier, God created darkness for the right reason and never for evil. The Devil himself was not created for evil. He became who he is today by choice. Even though the Almighty God possesses all power, he doesn’t compel us to do things. He will rather allow you choose than to compel you. Only on few occasions does he compel human beings as he did for Jonah.

Of course, you are aware that some animals cannot see during the day. While some cannot see at all during the day, some see better at night. The likes of Nighthawks, Owl and Nightjars can’t see during the day. In fact, you can’t come by these animals during the day.

Animals God created to see at night

It is quite funny and pathetic that African paint this bird black due to their nocturnal nature. They are seen as devilish, whereas all things God created are good. Nothing was created with the consideration of Devil in mind. If the evil ones decide to make use of them doesn’t make them necessarily evil.

Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.

Psalm 104:20

The Psalmist confirmed God created the darkness with these kind of creatures in mind ever before he created them. Most definitely, he knew the end from the beginning. Without the existence of darkness, there would be no need for the beasts of the forest. They may not be useful to man, but God cherish them as much as he cherish other creatures.

Never Toil With Darkness

Apart from the fact that darkness are used to perpetuate almost all kinds of evil, it is a medium through which the Devil use in spreading fatal epidemic disease.

Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

Psalm 91:6

Check out how all fatal epidemic diseases started in this world, you will be surprised that sources like CDC, Centers for Disease Control and prevention, and other reputable platforms managed by health experts are not always sure of how those diseases started.

When HIV started, they said it might have been passed on from Chimpanzees to Humans who are them as meat and came in contact with their blood. When Coronavirus caused millions of death, they said it started with human in the 19th century. From the probability report of man to Pangolin to another animals, different sources we’re stated again. Moreover, when Ebola started, they said scientists did not know how it started.

Do not be surprised; Devil is cunning. He is a master at his game. As he uses darkness to spread pestilence, it is difficult to ascertain its source. However, we know, as stated by the Psalmist, pestilence walks in darkness.

If you are the type who walks in the dark, you have to avoid going out late in the night during the spread of fatal epidemic disease.

You must have noticed movement are restricted during the pandemic. The health experts know from study that restricting movement helps to curtail the spread. Physically, coming in contact with infected persons will likely get one infected. However, spiritually, going out in the night makes you get infected without necessarily coming in contact with the infected person. As long as the diseases are in the air, one is prone to getting infected.

The devices of the Devil are the same. He doesn’t change his devices even though his tactics are different across ages. You can easily predict his next move. Most definitely, the next pandemic, if Jesus tarries, will be spread in the night, during the dark. The word of God is sure and forever certain. God is not a man that he should lie.

Avoid going out late at night like plague. Obedience, as you know, is better than sacrifice.

The Love For Darkness

I told you Devil loves darkness. He lived in it for untold number of years before Adam was created. How could we even count the number of years he spent in the dark in the dateless past?

He knows you can’t walk in the dark and not stumble. Actually, if you walk on a particular road during the dark for quite number of times, you will get accustomed to the terrain. Over time, the darkness may not be an hindrance any longer. However, you dare not walk around the house you’ve never been while it is dark.

Devil knows darkness is a difficult terrain for us that is why he loved it more. The Bible says in Proverbs 4:19, “the way of the wicked is as darkness, they know not when they stumble.” You can’t walk in darkness and not stumble. Fortunately for the Devil, he wants people to stumble.

His aim is to steal, kill and destroy. Who dares steals, kills or destroys during the day? Only an amateur, in the devil’s kingdom, will perpetuate evil during the day.

Satan steals, kills and destroys during the dark. Since this medium help him wreck more havoc, he literally turn it to its permanent medium, which is why people now relate anything dark, and darkness itself, with the Devil.

May God save us from the devices of the one (Amen).
