What Most Preachers Don't Tell Us About The Holy Spirit

Having knew the thought of the Pharisees, Jesus seized the opportunity to give extra caution to them, and of course to us all, not to think the Spirit of God was like him.  The statement Jesus made on that day brought us to a realization that Holy Spirit is quite different — in fact, "far far" different — from God the Father and God the Son. If you really know God the Father and God the Son quite well, and you relate to Holy Spirit the same way you relate to them, in no time, you will realize you've beaten more than you can chew. From this expository and thought-provoking post, you will learn a lot of things that most Bible preachers don't tell us — or forget to tell us — about the 3rd triune God, Holy Spirit. First, let me show you something fascinating in the Bible. Judges 9:7-15 7 Now when they told Jotham, he went and stood on top of Mount Gerizim, and lifted his voice and cried out. And he said to them: “Listen to me, you men of Shechem, That God may listen to yo

3 Unbelievable Old Testament Stories Jesus Confirmed In The New Testament Bible.

Due to the fact that miracles are not natural phenomena, they seem unbelievable. Any story that reveals a miracle seems strange and unbelievable.

Peter couldn’t believe anyone could walk on water until he did. Thomas couldn’t believe the Son of God could resurrect after being killed and locked down in a safe tomb. The children of Israel couldn’t believe they would walk on a dry ground in the middle of red sea.

Who would have believed anyone could go up into heaven without dying as it happened during the time of Elijah? Who would have believed virgin Mary could give birth without having sexual relationship with her husband to be, Joseph?

In the old testament Bible, there were lot of stories recorded in it. Some sound unbelievable. Had it not been the faith of some Christians, they would have doubted some of the stories.

To prove those stories were real, Jesus mentioned some of them in the new testament.

Knowing fully well that Jesus could not lie, he took away all doubts in the minds of everyone who reads about the story.

The stories are:

1. Lot’s wife turned to a pillar of salt (Genesis 19:24-26)...

"Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens.

So He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.

But his wife looked back behind him, and she became a pillar of salt."

When God was about to put an end to an evil city — Sodom and Gomorrah, he sent two angels to Lot and his family. Eventually, they escaped through the help of the angels.

After they had been out of the city, the angels instructed them never to look back. However, Lot’s wife looked back and became a pillar of salt.

In Luke 17:28-33...

"Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;

but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.

Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

'In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back.

Remember Lot’s wife."

Jesus told his disciples the signs of his second coming and reminded them of Lot’s wife who tried saving her life and lost it.

2. Flood destroyed the whole earth (Genesis 7:17-21)...

"Now the flood was on the earth forty days. The waters increased and lifted up the ark, and it rose high above the earth.

The waters prevailed and greatly increased on the earth, and the ark moved about on the surface of the waters.

And the waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth, and all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered.

The waters prevailed fifteen cubits upward, and the mountains were covered.

And all flesh died that moved on the earth: birds and cattle and beasts and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man."

Some people believe the flood destroys some part of the earth. On the contrary, the opposite happened. The flood destroyed

the whole earth as recorded in the bible. Every living thing died except Noah and his family that God spared.

The story seemed unbelievable until Jesus confirmed it in Luke 17:26-27 — "and as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all."

3. Jonah in the belly of a whale for 3 days (Jonah 1:17;2:1):

" Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the fish’s belly."

The whale swallowed up Jonah for 3 days without harming him. What a miraculous story! At the end of the third day, the Bible recorded that God commanded the whale to spit him out at a shore.

Who would have believed the story was real? Most people can only relate to such event when they watch it in movies. Jonah experienced it in real life.

To buttress it, Jesus shared this story to the Pharisees who wanted to see a sign from him as stated in Matthew 12:38-40 — Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered, saying, 'Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.'

But He answered and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.

For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth."

Believe you me, there is no false report or story in the Bible. Even if it sounds unbelievable or unimaginable, it is real because God cannot lie (the Bible is God’s HOLY book.)
